Nina-Joy Thielemans Belgian, b. 1997
Nina-Joy Thielemans (1997) shapes her artistic practice through sculpture, scenography, and sound to give tangible form or structure to impressions, thoughts, and ways of being.
Departing from questions around ecological awareness, pollution, or human survival, she collaborates with carefully chosen environments or materials through which observation and interaction can create insights, lived experiences, and works. Her visual language focuses on (the illusion of) timeless, monumental, or eternal forms, whereas her sound works function as improvised scores.
